Layered aromas of petrol, rosemary oil, apple and a touch of soil nuances are trimmed in all but invisible wood. There is fine volume and richness to the punchy medium weight flavors that also conclude in a mildly rustic and youthfully austere finale that could use more depth. This is also quite good. Here too here is just enough wood to merit pointing out suffusing the mildly exotic aromas of citrus confit, white peach and a floral top note. The succulent, round and lilting medium flavors that conclude in a youthfully austere and attractively refreshing finale. While built to repay up to a decade of aging, this could reasonably be approached after only 5-ish or so years. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
Ripe and vaguely exotic aromas are comprised by notes of Granny Smith apple, citrus confit, passion fruit, prominent mineral reduction and just enough wood to merit pointing out. Once again there is excellent volume to the rich and seductively textured middle weight flavors that aren't quite as stony but do offer a fine combination of depth and persistence. This is also worth considering. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
A phenolic whiff is subtle though perceptible on the attractively floral-suffused nose of softly spiced green apple and white peach aromas. The rich, delicious and caressing medium-bodied flavors coat the palate with dry extract which also buffers the moderately firm citrus-tinged acidity shaping the balanced and lingering finale. This could use better depth but a few years of keeping should be enough. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
A discreet application of wood suffuses the ripe, fresh and pretty aromas of mostly white peach, acacia and a whiff of matchstick character. The succulent, round and seductively textured middle weight flavors also coat the palate with dry extract, all wrapped in a clean, dry and highly refreshing finish that is not quite as firm. Even so, this is also going to need at least a few years of patience. Worth your interest. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
This is aromatically quite similar to the straight Chassagne but here the petrol character is more pronounced. There is again a step up in volume to the extract-rich medium weight flavors that conclude in a bone-dry, markedly austere and quite serious finale. This is positively Cistercian in character and as such, it may be more austere than some would prefer though with that said, the quality is clearly first-rate for its level. Recommended for those who intend to age it. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
This is also sufficiently reduced to suppress the underlying fruit today. More interesting are the succulent, rich and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors that offer better depth as well as slightly better length on the youthfully austere and well-balanced finale. Worth a look. Jun 10, 2024, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
This ripe effort displays an abundance of classic Chablis aromas of mineral reduction, citrus peel, oyster shell and acacia blossom as well as just the vaguest hint of the exotic. There is terrific punch and a taut muscularity to the more mineral-driven middleweight plus flavors that exhibit focused power on the impressively long and well-balanced finale. This is the densest wine in the range in 2022 and a wine that should age accordingly. In a word, brilliant. Aug 10, 2023, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
More elegant and cooler aromas include those of essence of apple, citrus zest, iodine and shellfish nuances. The rich, generously proportioned and gorgeously textured flavors are at once powerful yet refined; indeed there is a Zen-like character to the sneaky long, impeccably well-balanced and wonderfully harmonious finale. Marvelous and a wine that should age effortlessly over the next 12 to 15 years. Aug 10, 2023, Allen Meadow's (Burghound.com)
Here too there is subtle but perceptible wood framing the cool, airy and exceptionally pretty nose of acacia blossom, citrus essence, spice and a hint of jasmine tea. Even though the medium weight flavors are not as dense as those of the Ruchottes, they still display focused power and a lovely sense of vibrancy that also infuses the beautifully delineated and tautly muscular finish that goes on and on. This is also very much constituted to age over the medium to longer-term, which should help to develop more depth. Jun 10, 2023, Allen Meadows (Burghound.com)
A more floral and more expressive nose features notes of pear liqueur, lemon rind, green apple and soft spice nuances that are set up by an admirably discreet application of wood. The round and almost tender medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel along with equally good concentration while exhibiting fine length on the detailed finish that is also supported by lemon-tinged acidity. Like several of the wines in the range, this would benefit from having better depth but that should progressively occur. Good stuff and worth a look. Jun 10, 2023, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
This had not been racked and it showed as the nose is comprised by notes of secondary fermentation, reduction and wood toast. The rich, generously proportioned and solidly concentrated medium-bodied flavors flash good power on the moderately rustic and sneaky long finish. This is very tightly coiled and not particularly easy to judge so my range should be considered preliminary. Jun 10, 2023, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
A more complex and more floral-suffused nose offers up notes of rosemary oil, petrol and citrus zest. There is again excellent punch to the utterly delicious medium weight flavors that possess fine mid-palate density while displaying excellent length on the youthfully austere finale. This could use better depth but the underlying material appears up to the task and overall, this is potentially excellent for its level. Jun 10, 2023, Allen Meadows' (Burghound.com)
