The 2016 Blanc de Noirs Presle represents Bouchard's sixth rendition of this cuvée, derived from a 0.25-hectare parcel that's planted with 10 different massal selections of Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin. There was serious frost in 2016, making for heterogenous maturation, yet the wine has turned out brilliantly, mingling aromas of yellow apple and pear with hints of orange oil and warm bread. Medium-bodied, chiseled and precise, with a pretty core of fruit and a racy spine of acidity, it's one of the most delicate, fine-boned wines in the range this year. An utterly electrifying wine, the NV Brut Rose is simply drop dead gorgeous. The style is all about energy, delineation and minerality with this release, a blend of vintage 2004 and 2005 Chardonnay with the addition of still Pinot. This isn’t one of the more vinous versions of the Rose, which actually helps to make it quite versatile. Selosse’s NV Rose can be enjoyed before a meal but also has the tension to pair beautifully with food. The balance and overall sense of harmony are both dazzling. Disgorgement date: December 8, 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. eRobertParker.com (1112), Nov 2012, Antonio Galloni

The NV Extra Brut Rosé Fac-similie (LC19) has tightened up a little in the last six months—no surprise, given this vintage's prodigious concentration. Unwinding in the glass with notes of red berries, rose petals, musky peach and orange oil, it's full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a deep core of fruit, tangy acids and a rich but tightly wound profile. This is a fabulous rendition of Fac-similie that is built for the long haul. September 2021 Week 4, The Wine Advocate, 23 Sep 2021, William Kelley
Based on the 2014 vintage, complemented by some 33% reserve wines from six other vintages, Krug's new NV Brut Rosé 26ème Édition is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of tart red berries and plums mingled with notions of warm biscuits, dried fruits, flowers and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, taut and incisive, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a long, penetrating finish, it's an intensely flavored, electric wine that stands out as a particularly good recent release from this storied house. 2015 vintage and is complemented with 38 reserve wines sourced from nine different years (which makes up 55% of the blend). The youngest reserve wine dates back to 2015, while the oldest goes all the way back to 2005. Additionally, the blend includes 10% Pinot Noir, sourced from Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. This delightful rosé boasts a stunning, fresh bouquet of peony, blueberry, grapefruit, blood orange, warm biscuits and spring flowers. It has a medium to full-bodied texture and is both tense and crystalline, with a delicate yet concentrated structure and a salty, lingering and mouthwatering finish. I find the mid-palate particularly fascinating, as it is both fleshy and delicate. This lively and pure Champagne rosé from Krug is made up of 57% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. Krug has just released two cuvées: the Grande Cuvée 171st edition, an exploration of the large universe of Krug, and the 27th edition of Krug Rosé. The Grande Cuvée 171ème Edition is built around the 2015 vintage, but “the Chardonnays and Meuniers showed a little restraint,” said cellar master Julie Cavil. So, she included the 2008, 2013 and 2014 vintages to bring vivacity and tension. Furthermore, the cuvée has been enhanced by adding 131 wines from 12 different years, the youngest of which is the 2015, of course, and the oldest dating back to 2000. The Krug Rosé 27ème Edition is a blend of 57% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier. It too was built around the 2015 vintage, with 55% of various reserve wines. This is a rosé champagne that is quite distinctive in the Krug world for its flamboyance and vibrancy, but it will have to be cellared for a few years before it can be fully appreciated. (80% pinot noir and 20% chardonnay) Dark pink. Lively aromas of strawberry, raspberry and pungent flowers, with smoky minerality and a touch of Asian spices. Very pinot today, offering zesty red fruit and spice flavors and a sexy rose pastille quality. A chalky mineral quality adds cut and lift to a long, sappy finish. This will be extremely flexible with food. Déthune’s vineyards are all in the grand cru village of Ambonnay. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar, Dec 10, Josh Raynolds
The 2014 Rosé de Saignée Le Creux d'Enfer is an extraordinary wine from Cédric Bouchard, soaring from the glass with notes of crisp red berries, minty apples, red plum, anise and cinnamon. On the palate, it's full-bodied, deep and multidimensional, with a crisp but fleshy core of fruit underpinned by ripe but racy acids, a gentle but enlivening mousse and a long, penetrating and immensely sapid finish. This is one of the most exciting rosé Champagnes being produced, though sadly the three rows of vines that are its source delivered, as usual, only a mere 150 bottles for all the world. A candidate for wine-of-the-vintage honors in Champagne, Roederer's 2013 Cristal Rosé is showing brilliantly, unfurling in the glass with notes of crisp orchard fruit, white flowers, red berries, stone fruit, freshly baked bread and tangerine oil. Full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, the vintage's bright girdling acids are amply cloaked in exuberant, expressive and notably concentrated fruit; so while this Cristal is as tensile and age-worthy as one would expect, it's also impressively fleshy and generous given the year. Concluding with an intensely sapid finish, the 2013 isn't as overtly structured as the muscular, tightly wound 2012: rather, it's the 2013's alliance of cut and flesh, precision and charm that's so compelling this year. This is another banner vintage for what I consider the reigning champion of the region's tête de cuvée bottlings, and it will be worth an effort to acquire. The NV (2011) Extra Brut Rosé de Saignee Les Maillons is fabulous. A deep, dense wine, the 2011 offers a compelling mélange of aromas, flavors and texture. Game, smoke, licorice and menthol are some of the notes that open up over time, but above all else, the 2011 is remarkable for its palate presence and staying power. Even more impressive is the total lack of hard edges or vegetal notes that mar so many 2011s in Champagne. Antonio Galloni, Jul 2015. Vinous.com
The newly released 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé is a dramatic, perfumed wine, bursting with aromas of blood orange, iodine, sweet citrus fruit, peach and pear mingled with hints of buttered toast, smoke and spices. Full-bodied, textural and enveloping, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a pillowy mousse, it concludes with a long, penetrating finish. It derives its intense hue from red wine produced from Pinot Noir grown in lieux-dits Chants de Linottes in Hautvillers and Vauzelles in Aÿ. Wine Advocate, Aug 2022, William Kelley
The 2008 Cristal Rosé is all tension, nuance and class. Fresh and utterly brilliant, the 2008 bristles on the palate with pure pedigree. In the glass, the 2008 is at once translucent, weightless and powerful. Readers should be in no hurry to drink the 2008, a wine that will age effortlessly for many, many decades to come. Antonio Galloni, Jul 2017, Vinous.com
The 2008 Brut Rosé Cuvée Rare is the second rendition of this cuvée ever produced, and the wine is showing very well, unwinding in the glass with a youthfully shy nose featuring white cherries, blood orange, Meyer lemon, honeysuckle and dried white flowers that offers the promise of considerable complexity to come. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, racy and tight-knit, with good concentration, beautifully integrated acids and a fine mousse, concluding with a long, saline and delicately phenolic finish. This is really quite reserved after its recent disgorgement but should develop beautifully with a few years on cork. Issue 244 End of August 2019, The Wine Advocate, 31 Aug 2019, William Kelley
The 2006 Dom Pérignon Rosé is tightly-wound and austere, with notable aromatic presence and tons of raw intensity that just needs time to fully come together. Interestingly, the Rosé is very different in style and feel than the Blanc. Time in the glass coaxes an exotic melange of black cherry, cranberry, mint and crushed rocks, but ultimately, the 2006 is no mood to show all of its cards. Antonio Galloni, Jul 2018
